March 2019 Sensory Room in P&C Building $9,000

The EH P&C Association operates a very large OSHC service that can provide care for up to 255 children at one time.  As you can imagine, it can be quite loud and seem chaotic with so many children in an area.  Some children do not cope well with this type of loud, busy environment and especially at transition times when changes can be unsettling.

The Sensory Room was created to provide a place where children can go to get away from these disturbing elements on a temporary basis.  The large glass windows and sliding glass doors allow for easy supervision if the child prefers to be alone as well as blocking out the majority of the noise.  A number of specialty resources are available within the sensory room to help the child through the difficult time and prepare them to return to the main activities.
