2017/2018 Air Conditioning for Community Hall, Sports Hall Enclosures & Covered Walkways $425,000

Air Conditioning was installed in the Community Hall – this building is the most regularly used of all school facilities and it is a great benefit to OSHC, community groups that use the hall and the school itself to have the option of cooling the auditorium when required.

Two open-air alcoves of the Sports Centre were enclosed to provide additional spaces for our new Japanese room and dance studio. These specialist learning spaces have been specifically designed to support students’ learning in these two important subject areas. Previously, the fact that all students, from Prep to Year 6, have weekly dance and Japanese lessons had resulted in teachers having to move from room to room or running lessons in covered areas at times during the last few years.

The covered walkways to both the Community Hall and Sports Complex have been constructed to provide covered walkways throughout the school grounds.

The majority of this work was funded by the P&C Association as part of its ongoing commitment to reinvest in quality facilities for all students in the school. School funding will cover approximately a quarter of the work and more departmental funding will be used in 2018 to complete an interior fit out of the Sports Centre alcoves.
